METALLIC LANGURS

Silver (grey) langurs are a frequent family on the Indian subcontinent. After humans, they live in the most diverse of all primates in the world. They are also referred to as the Hanuman langur, personifying the worshiped monkey-god of the Ramayana, a fundamental Hindu epic. Because the are regarded sacred, they are tolerated by people and live in villages, cities, where there is plenty of food to steal (many a times in the shape of religious offerings) allowing them to thrive in great numbers.

On the other hand, the more arboreal, shy and less resourceful Gee's golden langur is to be found in the tiny region of Assam and south Bhutan are highly endangered animals. With a decreasing population of around 6000 individuals, their existence how hangs on a thread.
